SUMMARY:Foundation Paper Piecing by Kay Bergquist 02/13/27
DESCRIPTION:$45 – Saturday\, February 13\, 2027\, 10 am – 5 pm\, Location: JK Quilts\, 4924 N Elsinore Ave.\, Meridian ID 83646 \nRegistration Open to Members 9/25/2026 and Non-members on 1/1/2027 \nThis class will use 3 of Carol Doak’s new designs and will be taught by Kay Bergquist. Perfect for Beginners! \nSee the blocks below. Papers for these three stars will be provided. \nMost quilters will complete one block in class. You will learn the method to complete the other two at home. The 12” star blocks can be used individually or combined as a larger project. \nPaper piecing is not “fast” sewing. It takes time\, but I think we all agree that the result is well worth it! Precise points and unusual angles make the blocks very distinctive. \nMore about Kay: Quilting has been a part of my life most of my adult life\, with some breaks to “do life”. I am new to Boise\, having moved here about a year ago from Vermont\, where I was born and raised. In Vermont\, I was an active quilter\, teacher and had a longarm quilting business. \nWhen my husband and I moved here\, I knew I wanted to be a part of the quilting community here\, so have been looking for ways to meet other quilters and become involved here. It is amazing that there are several wonderful shops here\, and a large active guild. I look forward to being part of the local quilting community. \nSupplies for the Class:\n•	Sewing machine in good working order\n•	Ruler\, mat\, rotary cutter\, scissors\n•	Add-A-Quarter ruler\n•	A postcard\n•	A smile \nFabric Requirements:\n•	Background Fabric: 3/4 yard\n•	Focus Fabric: 1 yard\n•	6 colors to coordinate with focus fabric : ½ yard each\n•	Backing fabric: 1 yard \nThe fabric requirements provided are generous. It will allow you to make choices for each star as you make it. It will also allow for an occasional error. Fabric requirements given are for 3 stars. We provide the FPP paper to make three 12″ stars.
