SUMMARY:03/20/26 - Cracking the Color Code Workshop by MJ Kinman
DESCRIPTION:No Sew Workshop \nOn March 20\, 2026\, from 9:30-3:30\, MJ Kinman will teach a workshop called “Cracking the Color Code: Master the Magic of Color Interaction.” The workshop will be held in the Arrowrock South Meeting Room at the Hampton Inn/ Boise Spectrum\, 7499 W Overland Rd\, Boise\, ID 83709. \nTicket sales will open again on Jan. 1st and the workshop will be made available to guild members and the general public. Refunds for cancellations may be requested until March 1\, 2026. \nNote that this workshop has a Kit Fee of $10 (for color wheel and fabric)\, to be paid directly to MJ at the workshop. \nJosef Albers\, the great artist/educator of the 20th Century\, acknowledged how tricky colors can be. In his words\, “Colors deceive continuously.” As artists\, how do we navigate this world of deception? \nLuckily\, by using a few simple rules\, we can predict how color will try to deceive us and thereby increase our color confidence. \nIn this hands-on class\, MJ Kinman\, maker of giant gem quilts\, will introduce you to the four rules of color interaction and show you how to apply them to your own quilt design to create dramatic effects – regardless of your subject matter.
