SUMMARY:Minimal Improv Workshop by Ashelyn Downs
DESCRIPTION:Cost for the workshop is $50.  Refunds for cancellations may be requested until May 1st. After that date\, registrations become nonrefundable . . . and any remaining openings will be made available to nonmembers.  This workshop will be held in the fellowship hall of the Boise Church of Christ\, 2000 N. El Dorado Street\, Boise. \n“Minimal improv is an intuitive piecing process that utilizes familiar and traditional block styles as accents while avoiding overly symmetrical or repetitious piecing. \nWhile many styles of improv quilting aim to reduce scraps from previous projects\, this process focuses on intentional fabric pulls (that can\, of course\, be scraps or yardage already in your stash) to create balanced and cohesive statements. \nWe avoid overcongestion and maximalism by choosing lower-volume fabrics and by “buffering” pieced elements from one another much like traditional sashing does for individual blocks. \nGet inspired by your fiber selections and let the art of improv quilting lead you to make your one-of-a-kind throw-sized quilt!” \nClick on this link for all the information you’ll need about the workshop\, including a supply list and guidance for fabric pulls: \nhttps://www.urbandwellstudio.com/workshops/improvworkshopguide
