DESCRIPTION:Ashelyn Downs found her sewing experience\, pattern writing\, and design background culminating in the creation of beginner-friendly quilt patterns that represent the styles and spaces of the people who get to use them. \nPulling from the full evolution of 20th-century architecture\, 90’s grunge\, street art\, travel\, and pop culture\, she combines minimalist color palettes and artistic concepts in her work\, which she hopes will inspire the next generation to value and pursue the art of quilting. \nAshelyn describes her presentation this way: \nThe trunk show/presentation includes a dozen projects featuring my improv process\, fabric selection process\, a breakdown demonstration of how I assemble my “blocks”\, a Q&A time allotment\, and take-home documents with the basic tips and outline of my process.”
