All sale items must be dropped off between 1:30 and 6 pm at the Expo Building along with your signed participation form. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please remember to take your boxes home with you or stow them under a table with your name clearly marked. We cannot be responsible for your boxes or plastic totes. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of your shift. Wear your name tag which can be picked up at the front desk.
Pick-up
Sunday, June 26, 2011
Unsold items must be picked up between 4:45 pm to 5:30 pm. If someone else is collecting your things please let us know when you sign in. It is your responsibility to pick up your unsold items - if they are not picked up, they will be donated to Idaho Youth Ranch. This is not the job of the volunteer workers! When you pick up your items please check the lost tag area for items and tags that became separated.
NAME YOUR PRICE
At our Gift Garden you name the price — you keep 90% and the Guild takes 10% for commission. In recent years our sales have totaled in the $5,000 range for the three days.
Pricing your items
Here's how to determine the commission markup on sale items:
Amount you want x 1.1 = price $10 x 1.10 = $11.00 Final price is $11.00. You keep $10, the Guild keeps $1.00
The all-important price tag
- You must list your vendor number and price in a legible format on the price tag. Be clear - if the cashier cannot read it, the item will be credited to the guild.
- Vendor numbers are assigned when initial Gift Garden fee is paid ($10 members, $35 non-members)
- The inventory number corresponds to your inventory sheet. New this year, PLEASE put an inventory number on your items - these should consist of your initials plus a number. i.e. (JH14)
- MAKE A COPY FOR YOURSELF! We will keep the inventory sheets when you check-in so keep a copy for your own records.
- The price includes the Guild markup. You will receive this amount less the commission.
Securely attach the upper section of the price tag to the sale item. Secure with tape, staples or a safety pin — whatever it takes to keep it on! Price tags that can be easily removed can be easily lost! NO TAG = NO SALE!
Suggestions for a better sale
If you have many items that are similar and with the same price point - you must have them counted during check-in and check-out. Create a sign for your display showing the price.
Payments
Checks for items sold will be issued after a financial statement has been prepared. Checks are mailed to the participants - while we try to do this in a timely manner, please allow 2-3 weeks.
